Fast and effective PicoWay tattoo removal using photo-acoustic technology. PicoWay laser works by targeting unwanted pigment in ultrashort picosecond pulses. These pulses shatter the pigment into tiny particles which are then safely, naturally and easily eliminated by the body.

The PicoWay laser works by using a photo acoustic laser which emits minimal heat energy making it safer and more tolerable and comfortable than traditional lasers, with fewer side effects.

PicoWay laser is effective in treating the following:

  • Signs of ageing
  • Tattoo removal
  • Pigmentation
PicoWay Tattoo Removal

PicoWay is specially designed to target particular pigments and depths, making it the superior laser for tattoo removal on the Gold Coast. It is also one of the only lasers that are safe to use on all skin types and tones; from very light to very dark. This procedure can be completely pain free with the use of local anaesthetic.

What makes tattoos so difficult to remove?

Depth:

Ink is injected into the dermis, below the skin, making it harder to remove.

Ink particle size:

Larger ink particles are harder to remove. Traditional laser tattoo removal can be used to shatter ink particles making them easier for the body to remove, however, the remaining ink particles are often still too big, even after multiple treatments.

Colour:

Blue and black pigment are easy to treat, other colours such as reds and yellows can be difficult to remove.

Skin tone:

Darker skin tones are harder to treat with other lasers. This leads to reduced effectiveness while increasing the risk of injury. Picoway can treat all skin types and tones.

What makes PicoWay superior to traditional laser tattoo removal?

Traditional tattoo removal has limited treatment of tattoo colours and types and is not appropriate for all skin tones.

Can PicoWay be Used on All Skin Types?

Yes! PicoWay offers better results for all skin types. It can be used to treat Fitzpatrick 1-6.

How Many PicoWay Treatments Will be Needed?

The effectiveness of the treatment depends on multiple factors including; the age of the tattoo, location, depth, size, and type of tattoo. All tattoos will require a minimum of 4 treatments for patients, before they start to see optimal results.

What Should I Expect?

During your initial consultation, the laser is applied to your skin to identify the best possible treatment. Once the treatment procedure has finished, an ice pack may be applied to the treated skin, to help alleviate any mild pain. In some cases, an antibiotic lotion may be used. In the few days immediately following treatment, it’s important that the treated area is not scrubbed or cleansed with any strong skin lotions.

Does Picoway Treatment Hurt?

The level of irritation experienced is different for each patient and is also dependent on the region of the body that the tattoo is located. We offer local anaesthetic or numbing cream depending on the size and location of the tattoo.

Are PicoWay Treatments Safe?

The PicoWay laser focuses exclusively upon the treated area, leaving adjacent skin tissue unharmed.

Are There Any Side Effects?

Following the treatment, some patients may develop a temporary blemish or reddishness of the skin tissue surrounding the treated area. There may also be a lightening of the tissue, upon the treatment, which is also temporary. In most cases, the skin will quickly return to its natural colour.
