Prominent Robina Dermatologist, Dr Karl Rodins, grew up in Brisbane and attended medical school at Otago University in Dunedin and Christchurch, New Zealand.  He completed his residency at Christchurch Hospital, New Zealand and commenced specialty training in anatomical pathology at Palmerston North, New Zealand. He completed his pathology training at Canberra Hospital in Australia.

Dr Rodins previously worked as a consultant pathologist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, where he developed a keen interest in skin diseases and commenced specialty training in dermatology with the Australasian College of Dermatologists. He trained at the Royal Brisbane Hospital, Queensland Institute of Dermatology and the Mater Hospital. While training in dermatology, he also worked for Healthscope Pathology as a pathologist, reporting skin biopsies. He currently works for InfinityPATH.

Services

Dr Rodins provides general dermatology services including treatment for acne, rosacea, psoriasis, pigment disorders, eczema, paediatric skin conditions, as well as treatment for hair and nail diseases. He also provides skin checks and performs advanced treatment procedures such as cryotherapy, non-surgical treatment for skin cancer and surgical excisions.

Dr Rodins has specialist qualifications in both dermatology and anatomical pathology. This enables him to consult, operate and report on skin biopsy samples taken, resulting in an unprecedented level of clinico-pathologic correlation. Dr Rodins reports skin biopsies at InfinityPATH including biopsies performed by him, other specialists and GP referrers.
