What are bio-remodelling injectables?

Bio-remodelling injectables are an innovative new skin care treatment that helps to revitalise and rejuvenate ageing skin tissue. While these injectables are comprised of the same hyaluronic acid that are found in many dermal fillers, they have fundamental differences and are not fillers. Bio-remodelling injections trigger the formation of structural proteins, collagen and elastin. As we get older, these proteins, along with hyaluronic acid, begin to decline. The specially formulated hyaluronic acid present in bio-remodelling injectables enhance the skin and help to inhibit the effects of ageing. These injectables are most frequently used to improve the appearance of skin on the face, neck, and back of the hands.

How do bio-remodelling injections work?

Bio-remodelling injections contain a highly concentrated dose of hyaluronic acid. This substance begins to spread, when inserted into the skin. Along with stimulating the growth of collagen and elastin, bio-remodelling injections also hydrate the skin of the treated area. This process ensures skin that is softer, stronger, and youthful in appearance, while also working to impede the ageing of your skin.

Are bio-remodelling injectables the same as dermal fillers?

No. While they do contain hyaluronic acid just as dermal fillers do, bio-remodelling injectables are not fillers and do not volumise the face or other treated areas. The chemical composition of hyaluronic acid found in dermal fillers is different, with a chemically bonded hyaluronic acid giving dermal fillers a more viscous quality, allowing it to generate volume in the inserted area. Contrary to their name, doctors and skin specialists do not inject dermal fillers directly into the skin, but do so much deeper into the tissue.

Bio-remodelling injections are composed of non-chemically bonded hyaluronic acid, which is made secure through a heating technique. They are injected into specific areas of the skin about the treated area. Once they are injected, they proceed to expand out over a significant area, while activating the growth of collagen and elastin in the skin.

Can bio-remodelling injectables be combined with dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections?

Yes. Bio-remodelling injectables can be used in conjunction with dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections.

Pre-Treatment Instructions

  • Avoid taking aspirin, NSAIDS, anticoagulants (blood thinners), Ginkgo Biloba, garlic, flax oil, cod liver oil, vitamin A, vitamin E and any other essential fatty acids in the week prior to undergoing treatment.
  • On the day of your treatment, DO NOT use make-up, lotions, creams, serums, tanners, or any other products on the areas to be treated.
  • Avoid waxing, bleaching, using depilatory creams (Nair), or having electrolysis for 4 weeks.
  • Do not undergo chemicals peels, laser treatment, and microdermabrasion for 2 weeks before the treatment of the same area.
  • Avoid exposure to natural and artificial sunlight on the area to be treated for 2 weeks prior to receiving bio-remodelling injections, for optimal results. The application of a broad-spectrum sunscreen (UVA and UVB) with an SPF rating of 30 or higher is advised.

Post Treatment Instructions

  • Immediately after the procedure, you can expect to have visible pin prick markings on your skin where the needles have been inserted, redness about the treated area and some minor bruises.
  • The injectables are carefully inserted in small quantities into specific areas of your skin. Following your treatment session, it is possible that you might be able to feel where the injectables have been inserted. This normally subsides within a few hours and does not require to be massaged.
  • You can recommence your day-to-day activities following treatment.
  • Do not exercise or consume alcohol for 2 days immediately following your treatment, as doing so has the potential to cause bleeding and bruises.
  • Avoid wearing makeup for 12 hours.
  • Do not undergo any cosmetic therapies of any kind for two days following treatment.
  • Avoid saunas, steam baths, icy temperatures or UV radiation from natural sunlight or a solarium for 2 weeks following treatment.
  • All tenderness of the skin should disappear as any bruises and swelling of the treated area dissolve.
  • Avoid dental treatments for two weeks.
  • Do not have filler injections targeting the same area, microdermabrasion, and chemical peels for two weeks following treatment.
  • Do not have fractional resurfacing for 4 weeks following treatment.
  • If any post-treatment side effects such as redness, swelling and tenderness of the skin intensify after 3 days, call Skin Clinic Robina on (07) 5562 1300.

FAQs

Is bio-remodelling treatment painful?

Bio-remodelling involves injections. The area to be treated is numbed before the injections are applied. This sufficiently reduces any discomfort that you may feel during the treatment.

How long is the bio-remodelling treatment procedure?

The treatment procedure takes around 30 mins, not including the application of the numbing cream.

How long does bio-remodelling take to achieve results?

Bio-remodelling involves two treatment sessions set 4 weeks apart from each other. After your initial treatment, you will instantly start to see the hydration effects of the injectables, ensuring a fresher and more younger appearance.

The Bio-remodelling qualities of the injections will become apparent to you around 4 weeks following your second treatment session. This is approximately the length of time it takes for your body to stimulate the growth of structural proteins such as collagen and elastin, in reaction to the treatment procedure. The resulting effects of the treatment can be expected to last for up to 6 months following treatment.

How long do bio-remodelling injections last?

The effects of the treatment last for up to 6 months. For ongoing results, it is advised to undergo bio-remodelling injections every 6 months. While 2 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart are required at the beginning, only one bio-remodelling treatment is required every 6 months from then on.

Who is best suited to bio-remodelling treatment?

Bio-remodelling injectables are best suited to mature age patients. The treatment is not advised to be used by those who are 25 years or younger. The treatment is ideal for revitalising and hydrating your skin. Bio-remodelling injections deliver smooth and supple results. Dermal fillers can be used in conjunction with bio-remodelling to repair more extensive skin lines.

Can you get bio-remodelling injections while you are pregnant or breastfeeding?

No. You should not undergo bio-remodelling treatment during pregnancy, while breast feeding or if you have a known allergic reaction to products that contain hyaluronic acid.

Are bio-remodelling injectables safe for all types of skin and skin colours?

Yes. Bio-remodelling is safe to be used on all skin types and skin colours.

Are bio-remodelling injections the same as dermal fillers?

No. Bio-remodelling injections are not the same as dermal fillers. They do not eliminate wrinkles, deep-set lines, strengthen or alter the shape of your face.

Are bio-remodelling injectables dangerous?

Every injectable skin treatment carries an element of risk. To minimise this risk, bio-remodelling injectables are only ever administered by a certified doctor with extensive training. Unlike other types of injectables, patients who undergo bio-remodelling will never need to worry about their face looking like it has received an overly excessive amount of treatment. Bio-remodelling gives your skin a fresh and rejuvenated appearance.

How much recovery time is involved?

There is typically no recovery time needed after receiving bio-remodelling injections. Some patients may experience minor post-treatment side effects such as redness about the treated area, mild bruising and small lumps. For this reason, we advise that you do not undergo injectable treatments prior to attending any important engagements. Avoid exercise and alcohol consumption for 2 days following treatment.

Is bio-remodelling worth it?

A frequent question we receive from prospective customers is, “is this treatment really worth it?”.

Our answer is an emphatic “yes”. In the skin care industry today, no alternative treatment is available on the market right now that can provide the same level of efficiency, potency and rapid results, with minimal risk and while ensuring long-term skin revitalisation.

If you are seeking healthier, more youthful, and vibrant skin that looks entirely natural, then bio-remodelling injectables are an ideal solution for you.
